Dr. Alejandra Vega
Dr. Vega was born and raised in Houston, TX. She Attended Pomona College in California and received her Bachelor of Arts in Psychology. She then proceeded to the University of Kansas School of Medicine to complete her doctorate of medicine. She finally returned to her Texas home for residency at University of Texas Rio Grande Valley. During residency her research focus was in contraceptive access , and she successfully published and original research project to the Contraception Journal titled "Over-the-Counter Access to Levonorgestrel Emergency Contraception in South Texas: Does Over-the Counter Mean ready to buy?".
She is excited to return to Houston and has a large Honduran and Mexican family welcoming her back. In her free-time she enjoys weekend trips, hiking, and spending time with her partner and cat Dobby.
